Binladin Contracting Group (BCG) has a rich history of pioneering construction projects in the United Arab Emirates. Its first major project in 1968 – a 120 km causeway – enhanced connectivity in the northern Emirates. A leader in the construction industry, BCG has always sought ways to improve collaboration across its geographically dispersed projects.

“To set the right policies and follow governance, we have to choose the right software”, reflects Salem Bajaba, Information and Communication Technologies Manager at Binladin Contracting Group (BCG). BCG chose Dropbox and Dropbox Sign to streamline processes and enhance collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers. Dropbox enabled seamless file synchronisation across devices, allowing multiple users to collaborate. “Employees working from remote locations rely on Dropbox for secure collaboration with each other, as well as teams working in other locations”, highlights Bajaba. The high adoption rate across BCG has led to people adding a lot of new documents to Dropbox storage, increasing from 26 terabytes at the start to almost 60 terabytes. With this move, BCG reduced costs, while improving compliance with local governance.

BCG’s adoption of Dropbox Sign also revolutionised document approval workflows. A process that took days now only takes 30 minutes, accelerating project timelines. Bajaba shares, “For example, procuring IT hardware, used to take us at least two days. Now Dropbox Sign saves a lot of time. We’ve decreased the procurement approval process down to 30 minutes.”
